Rings

for string quartet

Program:
Rings is dedicated to my former boss, turned mentor and friend, Philip Glass. As an homage to Philip, the piece features four repeated sections, or "Rings," in which the quartet finds themselves spinning as the work progresses. I tend to avoid repetition in my music, so it was a fun departure to explore a more minimalist palette in honor of the greatest minimalist composer!
